About the Artist

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Charlotte Gould earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art from the University of Miami, attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, and received a Master of Arts degree in art and art history from Oberlin College. An independent artist ever since, Charlotte’s primary media are painting and drawing.

Charlotte has exhibited in many galleries and shows and has won numerous prizes over the years. She is represented in many public and private collections in the US, Canada, Argentina, Israel, and Australia.

In creating this extraordinary mixed media Alef Bet series, entitled “Iconoscapes”, Charlotte was inspired by the beauty and mysticism of the Hebrew Alef Bet. Each meticulously created image explores the ways in which the letters of the Alef Bet manifest the depth of Jewish tradition and liturgy.

The artist is affiliated with the American Guild of Judaic Art.

Charlotte resides and works in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
